with Dr. Eva Wong

March 29-April 5, 2008

The entire course fee is $995.00
or if taken individually:
Levels 1 & 2: $245
Level 3,4,5: $245 each

Students will be introduced to traditional Outer and Inner Qigong from two systems - The Pre-celestial Limitless Gate School (Xiantianwujimen) and the Yiquan School. Xiantianwujimen was founded in the Song dynasty (circa 10th to 12th centuries) by Daoist sage Chen Xiyi, who is recognized as "the father of qigong". Eva Wong is the 19th generation carrier (quanren) of this lineage.  The Yiquan School was founded by Wang Xiangzhai in the early 20th century. Yiquan is best known for its standing qigong postures called Zhangzhuan. One of master Wang's students was the Luhe Bafa master Sun Di. Eva Wong is a student of Sun Di and carries the direct transmission of Wang Xiangzhai's Yiquan.

In each level students will learn:

Level 1: March 28-29, 2008. Instruction in various techniques of outer and inner qigong. Outer qigong is concerned with strengthening the muscular-skeletal system - joints, muscles, tendons, bones, and spinal column. Techniques of tendon changing, marrow washing, self-massage, and calisthenics will be taught.  Inner qigong is concerned with nourishing the internal organs and cultivating qi, or internal energy. Students will learn Chen Xiyi's sleeping and walking qigong and Wang  Xiangzhai's standing qigong. Click here to register.

Level 2: March 29-30, 2008. The focus will be on tendon changing and self-massage. The Twelve Devas Tendon-Changing system and the Nine Self-massage system will be taught in entirety. Click here to register.

Level 3: March 30 - April 1, 2008. Click here to register.

  1. Hua Tu's Five Animals Calisthenics and tendon-changing Techniques.  The five animal forms covered are - tiger, bear, deer, monkey, and bird.  The tiger form trains tendon strength, the bear form trains bone strength, the deer form focuses on preserving generative energy, the monkey form trains agility, and the bird form trains balance.
  2. Part 1 of Chen Xiyi's Red Phoenix Calisthenics System. This system combines tendon-changing, calisthenics, self-massage, and breath regulation.
  3. More standing qigong postures from Wang Xiangzhai's Yiquan System.

Level 4: April 1 - 3, 2008. Click here to register.

  1. The Tiger and Dragon postures from the Wudang Shan lineage of Five Internal Animals Training (tiger, dragon, leopard, snake, and crane forms). The Tiger form builds bone strength, and the Dragon form trains the union of spirit and body. In addition, by immersing themselves in the spirit of these animals, participants will eventually come to embody the patience of the crouching tiger stalking its prey and the playfulness of the dragon frolicking in the sky.
  2. Part 2 of the Immortals' Guide to Self-massage and Breath regulation. This system combines self-massage and breath control to facilitate the conservation and circulation of internal energy.
  3. Part 2 of Chen Xiyi's Red Phoenix Calisthenics System. This system combines tendon-changing, calisthenics, self-massage, and breath regulation.
  4. The last two postures of Zhangzhuan (Standing Qigong).

The prerequisite for Level 4 is Levels 1 through 3.

Students attending Level 4 are expected to continue onto at least Level 5 in order to complete the entire Red Phoenix Calisthenics System, the Immortals' Guide to Self Massage and Breath Regulation, and the Five Internal Animals Training.

Level 5: April 3 - 5, 2008. Click here to register.

  1. The Leopard, Snake, and Crane postures of the Five Internal Animals Training from the Wudang Shan lineage. The leopard form trains tendon flexibility and strength; the snake form trains flexibility in the spinal column to facilitate the circulation of qi; and the crane form enhances the ability of the body to conserve and store generative energy (jing). In addition, by immersing themselves in the spirit of these animals, participants will eventually embody the explosive power of a leaping leopard, the elusive movement of the snake, and the balanced stillness of a crane in repose.
  2. Part 3 of the Immortals' Guide to Self-massage and Breath regulation. This system combines self-massage and breath control to facilitate the conservation and circulation of internal energy.
  3. Part 3 of Chen Xiyi's Red Phoenix Calisthenics System. This system combines tendon-changing, calisthenics, self-massage, and breath regulation.
The prerequisite for Level 5 is Levels 1 through 4.
