Meditation for Musicians with Madeline Bruser July 11-18, 2009 The retreat will be led by Madeline Bruser, pianist, teacher, and author of the highly acclaimed book The Art of Practicing: A Guide to Making Music from the Heart. The program includes meditation workshops and music workshops using meditative listening, sensory awareness, and relaxation techniques, to help you release physical and mental tension and transcend your current level of performance. This program can help you: * Improve focus and increase enjoyment in practice and performance Professional and amateur musicians of all instruments may apply to perform in the music workshops. Musicians who do not perform in the workshops may observe them and give feedback to performers, as well as take part in the rest of the program. Those interested in performing in the workshops must apply for acceptance as a performer directly with Ms. Bruser. Applications can be found at Ms. Bruser's website or by contacting Ms. Bruser directly at madeline@artofpracticing.com. Musicians applying as non-performing participants should email Ms. Bruser to notify her of their instrument. Program fees, including meals: Daily rates: This program is being held at Karmê Chöling Shambhala Meditation Center in Barnet, Vermont. To register please email registration@tailofthetiger.org with your name, address, phone number, email address, name of the program and choice of accommodations. You will be contacted for deposit information and confirmation of registration. In an effort to make our programs accessible to all, we offer an interest free payment plan. This plan allows you to pay 50% of the total prior to or at the time of registration and give post-dated check or credit card authorization for the remainder of the balance for up to six month post program.
