Conscious Leadership in Times of Fear: Applying Mindfulness in Business With Patton Hyman and Hylke Faber May 29 - 30, 2009 To view a printable flyer for this program, click here. The economic environment is presenting us with unprecedented challenges. How do you lead your organizations, teams and families in a time of heightened economic uncertainty based on your values instead of giving in to your fears? How can you use this time as an opportunity to let your true nature shine and inspire others to do the same? Patton Hyman, Development Director of Tail of the Tiger and a Senior Shambhala Teacher, and Hylke Faber, an Axialent Conscious Business Teacher and Shambhala student, will lead a contemplative leadership development program in which you will learn Conscious Business practices. In this program you will be invited to apply mindfulness meditation and related contemplative disciplines to real life business challenges. The program is based on Shambhala warriorship principles and Conscious Business, the leadership approach of Axialent, the leadership and culture development company. Axialent was founded on the belief that is possible to integrate and transcend material and spiritual wealth. Many believe that it is necessary to sell out in order to achieve economic success, or drop out in order to pursue a meaningful life. Axialent sees this as a false polarity. When business is conducted as an expression of your core values there is harmony between material and spiritual wealth. Axialent's clients include Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Citi and J&J. Tail of the Tiger is an educational nonprofit organization affiliated with Shambhala and housed at Karmê Chöling Shambhala Meditation Center. For more information about Tail of the Tiger, visit www.tailofthetiger.org. Program Venue: Shambhala Center of New York, 118 West 22nd Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY. Program Times: The Friday evening session will be from 7 to 9 p.m. and the Saturday session will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A complimentary lunch will be served, and the program will conclude with a reception. Please register with the Shambhala Center of New York by clicking here. Program Fee: $160 About Patton Hyman Patton Hyman is a practicing attorney in Barnet, VT, member of the Vermont and Georgia bars, and Development Director of Tail of the Tiger, an educational nonprofit corporation that presents seminars joining mindfulness meditation with the professions, business, and the arts.
